In my business, I decided that instead of having the usual affiliate programme, I would let whoever introduced the most new members each month donate 10% of our income to "an organisation that does good for others" of their choice.

And one of the most exciting parts of this for me has been seeing just how many organisations there are that are each doing something really special in the world.

So that's my way of making difference - giving money to inspired people who have transformed their inspiration into action!

"Isn’t it time to live an inspired life instead of constantly BEING inspired?" love that!

I love making cards & people love receiving them. For my birthday (in 2 weeks) I've decided to send 'Happy Birthday to Me ' cards to people who have impacted my life, hoping to inspire them for making me more of success as a result of their inspiration. (I sublimely send one to everyone who has posted, commented, and to you Sarah ~Thank you, all)

Inspired life? that's what I'm going after. A whole generation? I'll start with a few at time and look for great results.

Thanks for a wonderful post, Kyle.

Thank you for sharing your cousin's story with us. How uplifting!

Your comment "Isn’t it time to live an inspired life instead of constantly BEING inspired?" really hit home with me. I have a lot of people and things in my life that inspire me, and I've tried to do the same for the women I work with who are going through divorces and are just lost by showing them that there is life at the end of that difficult process.

But your words make me realize that there are other ways I need to find to live an inspired life... you've definitely given me a lot to think about.

Thank you again!

"The chain reaction" portion of today's post is the kicker for me. Whether engaging in a "pay it forward" action or just being "who we are" when we think no one's watching - these are opportunities for starting that chain reaction. It's social physics and momentum. The positive repercussions from one pure act are unknowable and immeasurable.

When we take the time to be mindful and choose the highest form of action at any given time, we are infusing our action with power. Rote, mechanical, habitual action also has the potential to affect change, but when we take the time to really think about what we are doing, why we are doing it and what we hope to achieve, we bring the power of focus to the task. This power is magnified by not on the increased effect of our own action, but the collateral positive energy we exude (which is picked up by others).

Focus on the good. Trust in its effects. Thanks for a thinker. :)

Hi Kyle,

(BTW, Sarah, great music choice!)

I like this post because it touches on something I talk & blog about: our abnormal obsession with work/careers in this country. It's easy to "hide" behind work and not really live while you are alive. Pushing careers is now starting in elementary school! People are being sold a bill of rotted goods when they're told to immerse themselves at all costs in a career. Work is one slice of the pie of your life. Most people who are dying will tell you that they wish they worked less and lived more.

I say be a George or Georgana Plympton of sorts! Try new things, lend a helping hand to others, see the world, take risks and blend work into your life -- not vice versa.

thanks!

Giulietta, Inspirational Rebel

I couldn't agree more. There are lots of things that inspire me but I haven't focused on inspiring others. A couple of months ago I became so disgusted with politics, society, wars, 24 hour news channels and all the negativity in the world. I decided I would focus on making the small corner of my world as good as I could make it. I hope that will include inspiring someone. I truly believe that if each one of us focused on our piece of the universal we all could make a huge difference in this world.
