I use a twitter management app like Tweetdeck or Seesmic Desktop. You add people to groups/lists. You only see who you want to see.

I have a question..how do you keep up with such an insane number of followings? I have about 500 followings and it drives me crazy!

It's always about your followers, it's what you can do for them. I try to create new content that would be valuable for my followers and finding interesting & useful things to tweet about. There's also a lot of bantering & fun that goes on.

Hi there and thanks for sharing. I started twittering about 3 months ago. I have about 7000 followers and just today I was thinking about how I must keep up the good content so to keep the followers I have and also continue to add more. Reading your advice helps keep me motivated.

Calvin your tweets are exactly what you outline here. I kind of miss when the twitter field was smaller but still enjoy having your info come across my screen. You are probably the best role model for using twitter that I can think of. Had to give an old address as this site doesnt' like yahoo or gmail as valid emails.
