Thanks for posting an article about Susan Boyle. She has truly impacted the world and turned conventional wisdom on its ear. Afterall, how many times throughout history have we seen shortsighted people unfairly judge the talent of others to later see them transform the world in some meaningful fashion.

Walt Disney, the Wright Brothers, Albert Einstein and Michael Jordan have now been joined by Susan Boyle.

You may not be aware of one profound point that I think you should consider, in light of your Blog. It was her mother that encouraged her to sing on this show and try and make a go of her potential singing career. The influence of a mother is powerful and she is to be commended for encouraging her youngest daughter to "go for it".

Go Moms, especially the Mavericks...

I was moved to tears by Susan Boyle's performance and the sentiments I (and many others) felt were captured beautifully in your blog Sarah. Especially poignant was your line about checking your assumptions at the door. Way to often we write people off (or are written off by others) without being given a chance, without taking the time to really listen, to go beyond the quirks or an outdated hairstyle. In the end, substance will always win out and the true heart, soul & character of someone will be revealed. Her song and it's message gave her courage and us hope. It made me realize that I too could not only dare to dream but could and should act upon them! BRAVO to Susan for an amazing and inspiring performance ~ and to you for taking the time to honor her.

Dear Sarah,

You have captured Susan Boyle's story, perfectly. Her video is so compelling, I can't imagine watching it and not being touched to tears - I know I was. It allows us all to believe that there is something inside of each of us that, when honored and revealed to the world, can do something great, something important... can fulfill a dream.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

All the best,
Karl
