Why I Think Trust Agents is The BOMB!

I’ve decided to bite the bullet and add more video to my blog!

In today’s video, I talk about my new favorite book, Trust Agents, by Chris Brogan and Julien Smith. Yes, it is as good as you keep hearing it is (that is, IF you haven’t read it. If you have read it, you already know that.)

It’s my most recent pick for the Escaping Mediocrity Bookshelf. Watch my video below to find out why. :-)

  • Hi Sarah,
Thanks so much for that review. I actually purchased this book a couple of weeks ago along with "Career Renegade" by Jonathan Fields. I'm actually on my second reading of "Career Renegade" and will definitely move onto "Trust Agents" when I am through. I really enjoyed you "speaking the blog". It makes me want to get to reading that book as soon as I can. Based on what you said I see definite similarities between this book and Jonathan's book. There are very definable steps that are mentioned in "Career Renegades" to help you get to where you want to go. There are also an abundant amount of resources that are mentioned in the book to help you on that journey.

I can't wait to get started on "Trust Agents".

    Best,
    Bob

  • Great review! I like how you took the time to actually read a few lines you found engaging. I have to admit while I definitely can see Brogan knows his business well, I have not found his blog particularly engaging; I just can't keep up with the massive amount of content he puts out, and as a result, I've not considered this book. Now it's on my list. I appreciate the time you took to post this :)

  • Sarah, thanks for the nudge. Trust Agents arrived 2 wks ago. I love Chris, but the book's been in my "To Read" stack, waiting patiently. Packing a picnic lunch now and going with sweetheart and Trust Agents to the beach. Bringing pen and highlighter, too. Great video. You inspire!

Great video and very convincing! I have embraced social media and hungry to learn as much as possible. Trust Agents validated that I should be myself while using the web. Thank you so much for the recommendation. I think I too will read this more than once.

Ha ha! I've actually that from LOTS of people, Ava. :-) Putting this book on top of the stack - and reading it - will be well worth it!!
  • sarahrobinson
Wow Chris! I am honored that you stopped by. :-) Meant every single word. Your book is a total gamechanger!
  • sarahrobinson
Thank you Nancy. :-) You will LOVE this book!

I'm glad you got it - I think you will really like it's cut-to-the-chase-ness. And I'm still looking for a solution on my flip. :-(

    Why thank you Roger. :-)

Than you Tim! It was fun to do. And I am glad I dispelled some of your reservations on the book. I too am put off by "gurus" who put themselves up on a pedestal. I promise, Chris and Julien do anything but that in this book. Let me know what you think of it!

Great job for your first video blog post! Okay--I have a stack of books on my nightstand, a stack on my family room coffee table, a stack on my desk, and a stack on the floor next to my desk. And you just made me order this book. Mission accomplished : )

  • How very fun! Thanks for doing this! I'm glad you shot a video. Thanks for all the very kind words. I'm so grateful for what you said. Your three reasons why you liked the book were really nice, too.

Glad to know you. : )

  • Swell review, it's been on my list but because my unread stack is way taller than yours I hadn't purchased yet but your review made me act ~ thanks! (Nice framing on your video, perfect necklace for the neckline and your hair color -- really nice! (But you might need a foam cap on your mic, a little static that sounded like a lisp you don't have.)

  • Great book review. I intended to read it anyway, soon, but if not, you would have convinced me. Nice delivery, well-paced and modulated.

    Very nice!
  • GREAT first video! I've seen all of the hype about this book but was very skeptical of anyone calling themselves "Trust Agents". Being raised in a Baptist minister's home, one either drinks the Kool-aid or becomes skeptical, questioning and charts their own course. I chose the latter. So, although I'm a sponge for the wealth of information, guidance and advice from those I respect and admire, I never deify them, and if they claim such titles, then I beat a hasty retreat.

But your first quote from the book dispelled this assumption - that "no one should call themselves trust agents", or something to that effect. I may give this a second look :)

    Thanks!
