Hey Sarah,

Good post! What scares most people into inaction is not hearing the truth about how messy moving in any direction can be. If they start to hit a few walls they think that's abnormal, when it's actually normal.

Enjoy your vaca!

Giulietta the Muse

Sarah,

Just wanted to chime in and say that is was a pleasure to help! :)

As for me, for one reason or another I tend not to ask for help. I think it's because I really enjoy learning things I don't know how to do and I've grown up in a time when learning anything is free on the Web. Of course, there's no substitute for a good teacher, but they can be hard to find.

That's more of an observation than anything; it's definitely an interesting topic to think about!

That's totally me - the one who has trouble asking for help. Friend, stranger, teacher, family member, it doesn't matter who it is. I'm quite sure it's why I spent a lot of time as a younger man not accomplishing much.

Fortunately for me, as my skills and abilities grow, it does become a little easier. No idea if I would have done in your situation, probably panic and waffle a bit more than you, but that's just where my head is at. Especially since I don't have the network you do, not yet.

Every so often it helps to read something like your post, because then I know it's not just me :)

Thank you Scott. You know, I used to do that "waiting til everything was perfect" thing, and then I realized I spend way to much time waiting! Besides, part of my path to escaping mediocrity is telling the truth live, while it is happening instead of pretending and putting ona public mask. And because of supportive people like you, that is getting easier and easier to do. :-)

Thank you Melanie. The part I didn't write about was thinking I had all my bases covered with having the right kind of help in place - ah but "the best laid plans of mice and men", right?!

Can't wait to see the new things you are up to!!

It's so great that you took the time to share this experience with us. You could have waited until everything was 'perfect' and posted your originally planned post... but then we would have missed out on a great lesson.

I'm always amazed at how terrified people are when it comes to asking for help. We can't do everything ourselves, nor should we try. I've wasted too many hours trying to do things that were not my strengths when I could have easily asked for help and had more time with my wife and kids having fun doing stress free activities with them.

The experience that you've had from this transformation definitely offers many valuable lessons. It shows that little things, such as changing feed links can be hiding under the radar yet have a big impact on your business. You have me thinking that I should go into my Aweber account and make sure that all my links are pointing to the right spots.

It's very awesome to see how you handle adversity and all the surprises that come your way. I totally appreciate that you share the lessons that you learn from your experiences and how they are helping you live life to the fullest.

I'm already loving the transformation that your blog has been going through. Keep it coming!

I do love this topic...your new brand...and totally agree! Transformation is messy!

But so worth it. I'm doing some tranformation too...

I'll share soon but the new way I'm choosing to connect with the world is with "The Get Real Revolution".
